A homeowner at LH Residences faced “Water Heater Corrosion” with their Joven JH35. Homeone replaced it with a new JSH35 and ensured full PUB compliance, including ceiling reinstatement.

The existing Joven JH35 had severe corrosion, with visible leakage around the cold water inlet and electrical housing. The corroded tank caused water damage to the ceiling board, and the installation lacked essential safety components such as earth bonding and a double-check valve.

After Replacement:

We replaced the unit with a new Joven JSH35 and installed stainless steel fittings, pipes, earth bonding, and check valves to meet PUB standards. The ceiling was cut to access the unit and reinstated with a new panel. All works were completed and submitted for PUB compliance.

Inspection Findings

  • Severe corrosion around the cold water inlet and heating element
  • Water leakage from the internal tank
  • Damaged ceiling board due to prolonged leaks

  • Ceiling access cutting and reinstatement
  • Final testing for the temperature of the hot water pipe. Pressure testing for both hot and cold water.

PUB Submission at LH Residences

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:

  1. All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
  2. The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
  3. The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
  4. The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.

Conclusion:

The water heater replacement was performed in full compliance with PUB Services regulations. All safety features, bonding, and valves were correctly installed by Homeone’s technician and supervised by a licensed PUB plumber. Ceiling reinstatement completed to a professional finish.
