Water Heater Corrosion: Ariston PRO 15 Replacement at 207A Punggol Place HDB

The house owner at 207A Punggol Place reported “Water Heater Corrosion” in their Ariston PRO 15 unit. Homeone replaced it with a new Ariston PRO RS J 25, installed the new fittings, stainless steel pipes, and complied with PUB Regulations.

Before Replacement:

The original Ariston PRO 15 showed severe water heater corrosion with internal tank leakage. Installation lacked an approved check valve and drain pipe, posing both safety and regulatory concerns.

After Replacement:

The old unit was replaced with a new Ariston PRO RS J 25. All required fittings were upgraded, including stainless steel hot, cold, and drain pipes (≤1m). Electrical bonding and safety features were added to meet PUB compliance.

Inspection Findings

  • Severe water heater corrosion and internal leakage

Replacement work scope:

  • Pipework upgrade (hot, cold, drain) to stainless steel
  • Installation of the compliant check valve and stop valve
  • Electrical safety bonding
  • Final testing for the temperature of the hot water pipe. Pressure testing for both hot and cold water.
  • PUB compliance submission upon completion
PUB Submission at 207A Punggol Place HDB

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:

  1. All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
  2. The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
  3. The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
  4. The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.

Conclusion:

The water heater corrosion issue at 207A Punggol Place was resolved with a full-compliance replacement by Homeone. All works were supervised by a Licensed PUB Plumber, and the installation met all current PUB safety standards.
