Rheem Water Heater Not Working: EHG-30 Replacement at 415A Fernvale Link HDB

A homeowner at 415A Fernvale Link reported a Rheem water heater not working. The ageing EHG-30 unit was replaced with a new Ariston PERO RS J 25. The installation included upgrades to ensure full PUB compliance.

The existing Rheem EHG-30 heater had surpassed its lifespan and displayed internal tank leaks. The system also lacked proper electrical bonding and a connection box, posing compliance and safety concerns.

After Replacement:

A new Ariston PERO RS J 25 water heater was professionally installed with upgraded stainless steel fittings, new electrical bonding, and a compliant connection box. The new system now operates safely and efficiently under full PUB compliance.

Inspection Findings

  • Documentation for PUB submission

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:

  1. All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
  2. The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
  3. The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
  4. The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
