Rheem Water Heater Leaking Replacement at The Scotts Tower
A homeowner at The Scott Tower contacted Homeone for help with a Rheem Water Heater Leaking issue. The ageing unit was replaced with a new Rheem EHG-30, complete with stainless steel piping and fully compliant works supervised by a Licensed PUB Plumber.

Before Replacement:

The existing Rheem EHG-30 storage water heater was leaking internally, indicating a tank failure. The pipe fittings showed signs of corrosion, and the installation, which was concealed above the ceiling, lacked accessible drain piping and modern stainless steel upgrades.
After Replacement:

The leaking unit was removed and replaced with a new Rheem EHG-30. Stainless steel pipes for hot, cold, and drain lines (within 1 metre) were installed. The installation was carried out above the ceiling by two experienced technicians and inspected for full PUB compliance.
Inspection Findings 
- Internal tank leak in the old unit
- Ageing and corroded pipe fittings
- No stainless steel piping previously
- Above-ceiling heater installation required additional manpower and care
New Components Replacement
- New Rheem EHG-30 water heater
- Stainless steel hot, cold, and drain pipes (within 1 metre)
- New brass fittings
- Electrical bonding (checked and confirmed)
- Drainage improvements
Replacement work scope:
- Isolate the power and water supply
- Dismantle the leaking Rheem EHG-30 unit
- Install a new Rheem EHG-30 with alignment above the ceiling
- Replace old pipes with stainless steel ones (hot, cold, and drain within 1m)
- Install new fittings and ensure watertight connections
- Perform the electrical bonding inspection
- System pressure tested
- Job supervised by a Licensed PUB Plumber
- Submit PUB heater replacement notification


Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:
- All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
- The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
- The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
- The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
