Joven Water Heater No Hot Water Replacement at 323A Sumang Walk HDB
A homeowner at 323A Sumang Walk faced a Joven water heater no hot water issue with a leaking JH25 unit. Homeone replaced it with a new JSH35, upgraded all fittings, and completed the job under PUB-compliant supervision.

Before Replacement:

The existing Joven JH25 water heater had reached the end of its lifespan. It suffered internal tank leakage and severe corrosion, with visibly deteriorated inlet/outlet fittings and no double-check valve. The setup was unsafe and non-compliant with PUB plumbing standards.
After Replacement:

Homeone replaced the old JH25 unit with a new Joven JSH35 water heater. New piping, valves, and fittings were installed, and a PUB-required double-check valve was added. The new system was safe, efficient, and fully compliant, ready for PUB submission.
Inspection Findings 
- Internal tank of Joven JH25 was leaking
- Tank body was heavily corroded and beyond repair
- Inlet/outlet pipe fittings were rusted and leaking
- Missing double check valve (non-compliant installation)
New Components Replaced:
- Joven JSH35 storage heater
- New double-check valve
- New stainless steel braided hoses
- New inlet and outlet angle valves
- High-pressure rated fittings
Replacement work scope:
- Shut off the main water and electrical supply
- Dismantled the faulty Joven JH25 unit
- Installed new Joven JSH35 heater
- Laid new double check valve, stainless steel inlet, outlet pipes, drainpipe and fittings
- Re-bonded electrical earthing
- System tested, verified hot and cold water flow
- Site cleaned and handed over
- Documentation for PUB submission

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:
- All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
- The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
- The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
- The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
