Ariston Water Heater Rusty: Andris Lux 30 Replacement at 75B Redhill Road HDB
A homeowner at 75B Redhill Road HDB experienced an Ariston Water Heater Rusty issue due to an ageing unit. Homeone provided a full-compliance replacement.

Before Replacement:
The existing Ariston Andris Lux 30 showed significant rusting and wear. The installation lacked several critical safety features, including a drain pipe, an approved PUB check valve, and proper electrical bonding, posing both functional and safety risks.
After Replacement:
The rusty unit was replaced with a new Ariston AN2 30 RS. We installed all missing components, including a drain pipe, approved double check valve, and proper bonding. The replacement was completed safely and in accordance with PUB regulations, restoring safe and reliable hot water.
Inspection Findings 
- The heater tank was rusting internally.
- No drain pipe was connected.
- No approved check valve was present.
- No electrical protective bonding installed.
- The heater had exceeded its operational lifespan.
New Components Replacement
- Ariston AN2 30 RS water heater
- Stainless steel drain pipe (≤1 metre)
- PUB-approved double check valve
- Stop cock
- Electrical protective equipotential bonding
- New fittings and piping (hot and cold)
Replacement work scope:
- Isolate the power and water supply
- Dismantle the leaking Ariston Andris Lux 30 unit
- Install a new Ariston AN2 30 RS
- Replace old pipes with stainless steel ones (hot, cold, and drain within 1m)
- Install new fittings and ensure watertight connections
- Perform the electrical bonding inspection
- System pressure and temperature of the hot water outlet are tested
- Submit PUB heater replacement notification
Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:
- All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
- The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
- The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
- The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
Conclusion:
All installation work was performed by Homeone’s trained technicians under the supervision of a Licensed PUB Plumber. The new setup meets current PUB regulations for water safety, backflow prevention, and electrical safety, ensuring a fully compliant and safe installation.
