Facing an Ariston Water Heater No Hot Water issue at Riversails, the owner opted for a downsized and compliant Rheem EHG-25S replacement by Homeone.

Before Replacement:

The Ariston water heater had reached the end of its lifespan, resulting in no hot water. Although the original installation was compliant, the customer wished to upgrade to a smaller-capacity unit that better suited their usage, with renewed assurance of leak-free and secure fittings.

After Replacement:

The faulty Ariston unit was replaced with a compact Rheem EHG-25S. Despite previous compliance, we installed new stop cock, approved check valve, fittings, and 1-metre stainless steel piping for hot, cold, and drain, ensuring a completely refreshed and secure system.

Inspection Findings

  • No hot water from the Ariston heater
  • Installation was compliant but ageing
  • Pipes and fittings due for preventive replacement

New Components Replaced:

  • Rheem EHG-25S heater
  • Stainless steel hot, cold, and drain piping (≤1m)
  • Approved double-check valve
  • New stop cock
  • Refreshed fittings

Replacement work scope:

  • Drain and remove old heater (PRO R S 56 SHE)
  • Install new Rheem EHG-25S above the ceiling
  • Replacement of critical plumbing fittings and components
  • Add a compliant drainpipe and electrical bonding
  • System testing and pressure check
  • PUB submission upon completion

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:

  1. All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
  2. The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
  3. The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
  4. The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
