Ang Mo Kio HDB Water Heater: Joven JH25 Replacement at Blk 617 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4
The ageing Joven JH25 water heater was due for replacement. We installed a new Joven JSH25, ensuring a safe and reliable hot water system. The installation of the Ang Mo Kio HDB water heater was completed with all necessary safety upgrades, and a PUB Certificate was issued for full compliance.
Before: Joven JH25
After: Joven JSH25
Date Of Replacement: 16 Aug 2024
Project Location: 617 Ang Mo Kio Ave 4

Before Replacement:

The existing Joven JH25 had exceeded its lifespan and was no longer functioning properly. It also lacked essential safety features, such as a double check valve to prevent backflow and electrical bonding to reduce the risk of electrocution.
After Replacement:

A new Joven JSH25 was installed at the same location, this time with all required safety enhancements, including a double check valve for anti-backflow protection and equipotential bonding for electrical safety. The installation complies fully with PUB and regulatory standards and is covered by a one (1) year workmanship warranty from Homeone, in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty for the unit.
Inspection Findings
- Visible tank body corrosion and water leakage
- Intermittent hot water output
- No double check valve, and no drain pipe
- No electrical bonding
Components Replaced for PUB Submission Compliance:
- Joven JSH25 electric vertical water heater

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that the work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:
- All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
- The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
- The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
- The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.
Conclusion:
This project at Ang Mo Kio shows that even a same-model water heater replacement requires full attention to safety and compliance. Our team installed a new Joven JSH25 with all required upgrades and issued a valid PUB Certificate, ensuring the system is safe, traceable, and fully compliant with Singapore’s plumbing and electrical regulations.
