A Rheem EHG-30 Water Heater is the new installation. All pipework connecting to the heaters is stainless steel. Following the manufacturer’s specifications, a new approved stop valve and double-check valves are employed. Such will comply with PUB Regulations. Our Licensed Plumber has supervised and approved the installation. There is a 1-year warranty by Homeone for this installation on top of the warranty provided by the manufacturer.

Case Study: Ariston

A homeowner at a landed house reported a Ariston Water Leaking from the inner tank, which was beyond repair.

Our role was to inspect the existing installation for compliance and execute the necessary replacement.

Inspection Findings

Inner Tank Leaking: The water heater’s inner tank was leaking and beyond repair.

Tank Manufacturer Warranty: The tank is out of warranty. The homeowner chose a new Rheem EHG-30 unit was provided for installation.

Improper Installation of Drainpipe and Lack of Electrical Bonding: The existing drainpipe installation did not properly discharge the drain water and lacked the electrical bonding, which are required for compliance.

Replacement work scope:

  • Supply of pipes and fittings
  • Removal of the old Ariston water heater.
  • Installation of a drainpipe and electrical bonding to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Installation of the new Rheem unit.
  • System testing and commissioning to ensure proper operation.
  • Worksite housekeeping to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Documentation and PUB submission for compliance verification.

Our PUB Licensed Plumber has endorsed that work is done in accordance with the conditions stated below:

  1. All water service installations must be in accordance with the Public Utilities (Water Supply) Regulations, Singapore Standards 636 for Water Services, and all other relevant statutory requirements.
  2. The proposed works shall not adversely affect the existing water supply reticulation system.
  3. The proposed water storage heater is installed in accordance with the specifications and requirements of the manufacturer.
  4. The installation of double-check valves is safe and effective in preventing backflow and the back-siphonage of water from the storage water heater through the heater inlet pipe, and will be safe for use.

Conclusion:

The Rheem Water Leaking issue was successfully resolved with a fully compliant installation. By addressing the missing junction box and electrical bonding, we ensured a safe and regulation-approved setup. The homeowner was provided with complete documentation, including the PUB Submission, certifying compliance with Singapore’s regulatory standards.
